Class Overview
In this WordPress Basics class I will teach you about domains and hosting, what it is and what to look for before purchasing. I will be teaching you how to install WordPress on your hosting, how to choose a theme, what child themes are and when you might need plugins.
I will also take you through ways to plan your website, things to keep in mind for both user experience and conversions.
I will show you how to build a basic website with basic pages and a blog and how to link it to your social pages and how to embed videos from YouTube.
If there’s interest (and time) I will also show you how to build a shop where you can sell digital (or physical) products.
I won’t be teaching any coding in this class as I would like to keep it basic.
When
The class will run for four weeks – one two hour session per week – and will be held online via Zoom. (A recording will be available to download after each session to refer back to when completing your own build and if you can’t make it to the live session)
Thursdays from 14:00-16:00 9, 16, 23 and 30 September 2021.
Cost
R500 / USD$35 for the four weeks per device/family.
