26 Words in Basic Strokes – Word 13 – miracle
Hello and welcome back to 26 Words in Basic Strokes. I’m Riëtte and breaking down one word a day for 26 days into the basic calligraphy strokes. We’re keeping it simple, no flourishes and no bouncing. If you need an overview of the basic strokes I break them down in the introduction video of this series. Today’s word is “miracle”.
We start with an overturn stroke.

Another overturn stroke.

A compound curve.

An underturn stroke.

A connector dot.

Another underturns stroke. This one starts where the connector dot ended and it finishes before you reach the x-height.

An oval.

An underturn stroke. This one also finishes before you reach the x-height.

A c-stroke.

An l-stroke, the exit stroke finishing before the x-height.

And an e-stroke.

Now let’s put them together.
Overturn stroke.

Overturn stroke.

Compound curve.

Underturn stroke.

Connector dot.

Underturn stroke.

Oval.

Underturn stroke.

C-stroke.

L-stroke.

And e-stroke.

And don’t forget to dot your “i”.

And that’s the word “miracle”.
